BUKIT JALIL: Southeast Asian champion Khairul Hafiz Jantan has vowed to make amends in the Malaysia Open Athletics Championships, which starts on Friday, at National Stadium following his mediocre performance at last month’s Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
The 20-year-old believes he is now a matured sprinter after the experience in Gold Coast.
“It was a good experience at the Commonwealth Games as I managed to race against top sprinters such as Jamaican Yohan Blake.
“I hope I can perform consistently at the Malaysia Open,” he said.
Khairul, known as ‘The Speedy Jantan’, holds the national record of 10.18 set in Kuching in 2016.
