KUALA LUMPUR: Agilan 'The Alligator' Thani is eager to earn another crack at the world title when he takes to the cage at ONE Championships’ Visions of Victory at the Axiata Arena on March 9.
Agilan, who is one of five Malaysians that have so far been confirmed on the fightcard, will go against former SFL welterweight champion Amitesh Chaubey.
A win will put him one fight closer to securing another shot at the ONE welterweight world championship belt.
The 22-year-old's only defeat so far was against recently-retired Ben Askren last year.
Agilan's last fight in August saw him beating Egyptian Sherif Mohamed.
Agilan said he is eager to make an impression on March 9.
“It feels great to be competing again in front of my fans. Every time I step outside the curtains and walk towards the cage, I feel the energy from the home crowd," said Agilan.
“I want to finish the fight as fast as possible.
“I am training hard to achieve my goal of winning the fight.
"I am not treating this match lightly.”
