KUALA LUMPUR: Budget issues could be the reason behind the FA of Selangor’s (FAS) decision not to replace any of their foreign players in the ongoing mid-season transfer window.

Except of Spanish striker Rufino Segovia, who is the leading scorer in the Super League with eight goals, the others have failed to make an impact.

The other foreigners are Spain’s Alfonso de la Cruz, Brazil’s Willian Pachecho, Indonesia’s Evan Dimas and Ilham Udin Armaiyn.

The ongoing transfer window ends on June 3.

“We have no plans to replace our foreign players. It is not easy to just replace any of them as it involves money.

“I think they are not doing too bad. They did a great job in the recent 2-2 draw with league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim.

“We have also reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, so I think everything is good here,” said FAS secretary Rosman Ibrahim on Wednesday.

Selangor are currently eighth in the league with 11 points.
