KUALA LUMPUR: Mixed doubles Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying broke their jinx and qualified for the semifinals of the Japan Open when they beat Indonesia's Praveen Jordan-Melati Daeva Oktavianti today.

In the 70-minute clash, 2012 champions Peng Soon-Liu Ying won 21-19, 20-22, 21-17 against the Indonesians,

The Malaysian pair had lost to the Indonesian duo twice this year, in the German Open in March and India Open in January.

Peng Soon-Liu Ying, the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics silver medallists, will meet either China's Zhang Nan-Li Yinhui or Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong in the semi-finals tomorrow.
