IPOH: Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming confirmed he was among the 24 candidates contesting in the state DAP convention to be held at the Taiping Perdana Hotel, this Sunday.

Nga, who is also DAP deputy secretary-general, said deputy state chairman and Batu Gajah member of Parliament (MP) V. Sivakumar, state vice-chairman A. Sivanesan and state secretary Wong Kah Woh will be contesting in his team.

Also participating in the team’s line-up were state exco members Prof Dr Abdul Aziz Bari, Yong Choo Kiong and Wong May Ing as well as Perak DAP adviser, Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham.

In addition, also contesting under his team were Keranji assemblyman Chong Zhemin, Malim Nawar assemblyman Leong Cheok Keng, Pokok Assam assemblyman Leow Thye Yih, Jalong assemblyman Loh Sze Yee, Bercham assemblyman Ong Boon Piow, Buntong assemblyman A. Sivasubramaniam and Taiping MP Teh Kok Lim.

On Sept 29, another team led by DAP national vice-chairman M. Kula Segaran and DAP assistant organising secretary Thomas Su Keong Siong had nominated Choo Ooi Beng from Kuala Kangsar branch, Loh Eng Soon (Kampung Acheh Baru), Ling Lok Hock (Kampung Cina), Pooi Yong Hwa (Teluk Intan), Ng Lai Hoong (Pasir Pinji), Cheong Chee King (Taman Canning), Tho Siew Foong (Aulong), N. Muniandy (Ipoh Barat) dan Beh Boon Chong (Pantai Remis).

Kula Segaran said, he and Thomas Su would not be contesting in the convention this time to focus fully on their new duties as Minister of Human Resources and Kampar MP respectively as well as party duties at the national level. - Bernama
