BAHAU: Rumours on Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan contesting at the parliamentary seat in the upcoming 14th General Election (GE14) is just part of a psychological manouevre.

Mohamad said despite repeated statements that he would be defending his Rantau state seat in the GE14 and not at the parliamentary level, the rumour mill continues to churn.

The Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar said the rumour had been deliberately disseminated by certain parties to trigger anxiety among his supporters and voters.

“I see this as a psychological war launched to cause uneasiness among my supporters. These parties are aware that I am anchoring the state and it is likely that I will be re-elected as the Menteri Besar once again, if I continue to contest at the state seat.

“It’s normal (spreading rumour). Politicking is normal within and outside the party but normally it is always the latter.

“It’s their way to create chaos among party members. It’s their way to distract my focus but I won’t lose focus (in GE14),” he told reporters here today.
