KOTA BARU: Kelantan Pas Youth lodged a police report today against lawyer Siti Kassim, and DAP members David Orok and Ronnie Liu for “insulting Islam, Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail.”
The report was lodged by state Pas Youth deputy chief Nor Azariza Mohd Alawi at the Pengkalan Chepa station. He was accompanied by 30 party members when he lodged the report at about 10am.
Speaking to reporters later, Nor Azariza said the three had insulted Islam and the two Prophets via their Facebook postings recently.
"They posted statements that might confuse readers and tarnish the image of Islam among non-Muslims.
"This is not the first time Siti Kassim has come out with such a remark. Several reports have been lodged (against her) but no action has been taken,'' he said.
Nor Azariza urged the police to take stern action if more such insulting statements are issued.
"If no action (is taken by the police on this), we might consider launching a big gathering to protest against this issue. We do not want things to get more serious.
Meanwhile, Pahang Pas Youth lodged seven reports against Siti Kassim and Orok over their Facebook posts, the first believed to have been uploaded by the lawyer on Sept 1 and 10.
"On Sept 5, another confusing post was uploaded by David Orok, which insulted Prophets Ismail and Ibrahim," said Pahang Pas Youth chief Mohamad Hazmi Dibok when met at the Kuantan police headquarters here today.
Hazmi described the FB posts as twisting the facts and making false as well as deceitful statements.
"The (FB posts) are too much and can cause unrest among the Muslim community," he said.
He added that the statements can be seen as going against the Federal Constitution which upholds Islam as the religion of the Federation (Malaysia), and a challenge against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who is the head of Islam in the country.
