ARAU: Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad should blame Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) for the imminent three-cornered clash between Barisan Nasional (BN), Pas and the opposition bloc in the 14th general election (GE14).
Pas deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said PAN has made the BN-Pas-Harapan fight inevitable by declaring that it will contest in all seats belonging to Pas, and voicing its intention to win over Kelantan.
He also accused PAN of trying to backstab Pas by pretending to open the door for negotiations, while at the same time wishing to contest in seats belonging to the Islamic party.
"Tun (Dr Mahathir) should look into the issues in Pakatan Harapan and try to solve them before pointing fingers at others.
"The continuous attack in Pas areas... (the declaration of wanting to take) over Kelantan from Pas... and plans to contest in all seats Pas is contesting in – these were the things that (were done by) leaders of a party in the opposition bloc. (So) how could we possibly work with them?" Tuan Ibrahim said at a press conference at a GE14 rally at Kampung Katong here.
He was responding to Dr Mahathir's recent statement in which he blamed Pas for “dividing” Malays and said that the Islamic party will be a “spoiler” in the GE14.
He was also quoted as saying that since its formation decades ago, Pas has not done anything good for the country.
