BUKIT MERTAJAM: Pas has told Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to learn the "ins and outs" of becoming an opposition leader before attacking the Islamic party.

Its vice-president Idris Ahmad said the former prime minister should do so since he has no experience of being the leader of any opposition party.

"Dr Mahathir should stop accusing Pas of eating Umno or Barisan Nasional's 'dedak'.

"Rather, it must be reminded that he had eaten the 'dedak' for 22 years while leading the country.

"This can also be a lesson for him when he fights Barisan Nasional for the first time in the 14th General Election," he said when launching Pas Permatang Pauh division's election machinery here today.

Present were state Pas commissioner Mohd Fauzi Yusof, his deputy Amir Hamzah and Pas Permatang Pauh division chief Omar Hasan.
