PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib today handed over mock keys to 15 house owners of the Selasih 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing Project (PPA1M) at Presint 17.

This symbolically marked the completion of the Selasih PPA1M project, which has about 1,000 apartment units with 424 units measuring 1,000 sq ft in size; 288 units (1,200sq ft); and 288 units (1,500sq ft).

The house owners also received their strata title from the prime minister.

“The government has ensured that the PPA1M project will possess high quality in both design and finishing,” said Najib.

The prime minister said the government has also agreed to increase the number of PPA1M units from about 100,000 to 200,000, scheduled to be completed by 2020.

Also present were Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor; Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, and Putrajaya Corporation president Datuk Seri Hasim Ismail.

PPA1M aims to increase the supply of affordable housing, priced from RM150,000 to RM300,000, for civil servants.

Government subsidy is valued at between RM25,000 and RM38,000, based on the floor size of each unit.

Najib said the maintenance fee of PPA1M units is fixed at a reasonable rate of 0.16 sen per square feet.

Civil servants working for the federal and state governments, local authorities, and federal statutory bodies are eligible to purchase PPA1M homes.
