SEREMBAN: Pakatan Harapan (PH) has proposed that the Opposition Leader's position in the state assembly be institutionalised.

This will thereby prove that Pakatan Harapan (PH) recognises the roles and responsibilities of the opposition said Anthony Loke Siew Fook (PH - DAP Chennah)

He adds that the status and position of the Opposition Leader should also be rated as Exco which is entitled to receive all facilities for Exco.

"Official cars and officers should also be provided to the Opposition Leader as what has been done by the Selangor government.

"In addition, the Opposition Leader should also be appointed as a state select committee to make the composition more balanced, and in Negri Sembilan we have 16 opposition assemblymen," he said.

He said this in his speech to support the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tunku Munawir speech at second meeting of the first term of the 14th State Legislative Assembly.

Loke said the membership of the committee should not be appointed among the Exco members as they already had been tasked with various responsibilities.

He also expressed his appreciation towards Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan (BN- UMNO Rantau) who has played an important role in the process of transitioning power and ensuring that all went well.

Loke said the action of the former Menteri Besar who left the official residence of the Mentri Besar after PH won the 14th General Election, should be an example.

"Now PH had taken over the government for four months and now it's time for us to implement what had been said and fought for so long.

"As a new government, we must not repeat what we had criticised in the past and not do something we do not like them to do to us as well," he said.
