GEORGE TOWN: While the backstage crews were setting up the stage for the next act in a circus, a clown will be keeping the audience entertained during the interval and maintain its euphoric ambience.

However, Armen Asiryants is not just an ordinary clown, but rather one of the ten specialists in clowning worldwide.

Describing himself as a jack-of-all-trades, Asiryants explained that his profession is not an easy job as it required various sets of skills, including comedy, juggling, choreography, philanthropist, which he gathered himself.

Asiryants who is with Moscow Circus also said that he has been receiving negative comments on his profession daily, but was determined to carry on for what he believed was his passion.

Meanwhile, master juggler Semion Krachinov said he would continue pushing himself out of his comfort zone, despite already received the title as “most sought-after jugglers in Russia”.

Krachinov stressed that pushing limits on one self to improve is essential in order to survive in the circus field.

“If you want to stand out in these sort of careers, you must have the strong artistic passion in yourself and to free yourself from any restrictions and dare to have your creation run wild and free,” he said.

Having performed in 14 different countries worldwide and making Malaysia the 15th, Krachinov said that Malaysia was his biggest performance done for the past 15 years.

He claimed that he made his own decision to come to perform in Malaysia himself rather than being handpicked by the circus producers.

“Although I’ve been performed in the famous Cirque du Soleil (in Canada) for two years, what I find so unique about Malaysia is the blend of people and their races and cultures here, as well as the amount of energy (the audiences in Malaysia) provided is just absolutely beautiful,” he added.
