Have fun under the stars as Slide the City Malaysia has a night slide and more at Setia Alam this month, Hanna Hussein

ONE... two... slide! You can get wet, and slide under the moon and stars as Slide the City Malaysia recently launched its first premium night slide in Southeast Asia.

Slide the City is a global phenomenon that brings a gigantic slip and slide onto city streets and has invadedcountries such as United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Korea, Japan, Brunei, Hong Kong, Macau, China and Taiwan since 2013.

It’s not new to the Malaysian scene as the premium slide was first brought here in December 2015 by Monkey Theoryand has since journeyed across the country to states such as Penang, Melaka, Pahang and Johor.

However, Slide the City is back in the Klang Valley as it is happening in the evening. Night sliders will have a splashing fun time without worrying about getting sunburned!

“Every child’s face will light up when parents tell them they are going to the neighbourhood playground to slide on the huge slide. We wanted to relive that happy moment for both the adults and children aged 7 and above,” said Monkey Theory founder and chief executive officer Leong Delon.

The event is designed to be a fun family-oriented event within a carnival-like atmosphere making it a must for families to bond with their loved ones.Other game activities include The Bull Ride, The Resistance Stretch, Gladiator Joust and Dunk A Friend.

Food enthusiasts will also have a great time there with many choices to choose from as there are a number of food trucks to fill all their gastronomic needs!

The organiser has partnered with the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia where a portion of the sales proceeds will be channelled to patients suffering from kidney disease.

Slide the City is also big on preserving the environment and has partnered with Wahoo Events onits Shark Savers campaign to say “no” to the consumption of shark fins as the vast killing of sharks not only damages the ecosystem but also pollutes the seas.

The one-day event has also extended to a month. It is happening on Fridays (5pm-midnight), Saturdays and Sundays (9am-midnight) from now until Oct 29 at Car Park C, Setia City Convention Centre in Setia Alam.

Tickets can be bought online at www.slidethecity.asia or on site. Regular and VIP tickets are priced from as low as RM29 and RM86 each. Tickets are also available at select7-Eleven stores in Penang, Selangor and the Klang Valley.
