KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Carmen Soo, who has made a name for herself in the Philippines, is now the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl.
At noon yesterday, Soo, 41, uploaded on her Instagram a photo of her newborn, Bea Tan, alongside her husband Benson Tan and herself in an unnamed hospital.
The caption to her joyous photo read: "I'm so proud and thankful to welcome Baby Bea into our lives last Friday (Feb 9). Mummy and baby are doing well!"
It further said: "Benson and I are very excited about this new chapter in our lives. Baby Bea is so cute and we are so in love with her!"
Soo's post received well-wishes from her fans and followers.
Among them was Malaysian singer Junji Delfino who said: "Congratulations Carmen and Benson!"
Another netizen Yvette said: "Huge congratulations on the arrival of beautiful Baby Bea, dearest Carmen Soo."
Lester Pimentel said: "Congratulations Carmen and Benson! Welcome to the world Bea!"
Business graduate Soo, who married Benson in 2015, began acting on Philippine television nine years ago and famously co-starred with Filipino actor Jericho Rosales in the television drama series Kahit Isang Saglit.
Her best known Malaysian movies include Baik Punya Cilok in 2005, Sayang You Can Dance in 2009, and Ghost Child in 2013.
In September last year, Soo shared the good news of her pregnancy on Instagram, announcing that she was five months' pregnant.
