KUALA LUMPUR: Handsome and talented South Korean actor Kang Ha-neul has gone for his military enlistment yesterday but not before leaving a warm message for his followers and fans on his Instagram.

The long poem-like text described his thoughts as the 27-year-old star reminisced on his personal life and 11-year career in showbiz.

“This will be my final post as a person in his 20s. Looking back, I realised that time doesn’t go by vainly.

“I’ve had the chance to work on various interesting projects and I feel very lucky and energised because of such valuable opportunities.”

On his 21-month military service, Kang wrote: “I think it’ll be a fun experience being in a new environment, surrounded by new people and new energy.

“I’ll make sure to keep a bright smile on my face throughout. I’ll be back.”

The actor posted an image of his friends taking turn in shaving his hair. A buzz cut is part of the his enlistment’s requirements.

Kang said, "I wanted to ask my friends to shave my head before entering the army. This has to be one of the most memorable memories in my entire lifetime.”

During his enlistment, the actor will serve as a military police officer for the Republic of Korea’s Capital Defense Command.

Kang first started his acting career in theatre in 2006 before moving on to the small and big screens. He has starred in the TV series To The Beautiful You and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo as well as action movies Twenty and Midnight Runners, among others.
