THE all new 10.5 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which was announced at the Apple Developers Conference in San Jose, US, earlier last month, is now available in the Malaysia as of today.

As the current definitive model of the lineup, the new iPad Pro features an advance display with ProMotion technology, supported by a new A10X Fusion chip for improved performance.

The new 10.5-inch model reduces the borders by nearly 40 percent, all the while maintaining its compact size and weigh of just a pound.

The iPad Pro's features will also be further enhanced when the iOS 11 becomes available. Expected to arrive sometime at the end of the year, the iOS 11 gives the iPad Pro an all-new Files app, customisable dock potential, improved multitasking and a more comprehensive integration of the Apple Pencil, all of which gives the user an added boost to potential productivity and creativity.

Better display and interactivity

The new redesigned retina display in iPad Pro features ProMotion, a new technology that delivers refresh rates of up to 120Hz for a more fluid overall performance.

With ProMotion, the Apple Pencil is said to be more responsive with a fast 20-millisecond latency allowing users to replicate a more natural drawing experience.

ProMotion also improves display quality and reduces power consumption by automatically adjusting the display refresh rate to match the movement of the content.

The advance retina display along with screen features like anti-reflective coating and True Tone technology adjusts display colour and bightness to allow easier-on-the-eyes viewing throughout the day be it indoor or outdoor.

Powerful performance

In terms of performance, the new iPad Pro is said to be versatile enough to tackle the most demanding tasks. The new 64-bit A10X Fusion chip provides performance said to rival that of most PC laptops shipping today, so tackling complex tasks like editing photos and 4K video, rendering 3D images or playing games feels effortless.

Overall, a six-core CPU and 12-core GPU delivers up to 30 percent faster CPU performance and 40 percent faster graphics performance than the A9X chip, while delivering all-day battery life.

Photos and videos made better

The iPad Pro is also big on photography and video editing, with the emphasis on sharing pro-quality photos and videos. It features the same front- and back-facing cameras as iPhone 7, including a 12-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation, along with a 7-megapixel FaceTime HD camera.

The tablet also features a four-speaker audio system.

Adding, an embedded Apple SIM2 and support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi and LTE Advanced3 makes it easier to stay connected when travelling in more than 180 countries and regions.

The new Touch ID on iPad Pro is technically also more responsive and gives users a simple and secure way to unlock iPad, keep personal information private within apps which includes approval of purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store and iBooks Store.
