STUDENTS who meet the entry requirements can now apply directly to study engineering at University of Malaya (UM) for the September 2017 academic year.
Engineering Faculty dean Professor Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman said: “We are delighted to offer students an option to study in one of the world’s top engineering schools. We place emphasis on selecting exceptional students, and they will be given the opportunity to be part of our world-class faculty.”
Applications are open to students with A levels, International Baccalaureate Diploma, Matriculation/Foundation Studies, Diploma, Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia and other qualifications which meet the programmes’ entry requirements.
“Our degrees are accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia and Washington Accord, which allows our graduates to gain employment opportunities worldwide,” Noor Azuan also said, adding that the fees for the four-year degree programmes are RM90,000.
UM’s Faculty of Engineering was ranked 35th in the recent QS World University Rankings 2017, outperforming engineering schools such as Princeton (37th), the University of Sydney (41st) and Cornell (47th).
In the QS Rankings by subject, UM’s electrical engineering was ranked 23rd, mechanical engineering, 33rd and chemical engineering, 38th, all within the purview of the world’s top universities.
