KUALA LUMPUR: A retired fireman is facing difficulties getting his medical claims paid at the Public Service Department.
JR Eric Ranatunga said he had filed his claims for his sick wife in August last year.
“Why does it take them so long to process my claims? My wife’s medicine is really expensive and I do not have money because I am a pensioner,” he said.
A Public Service Department spokesman said they were having problems processing the claims as the details provided were not complete.
“We have forwarded the claims to the Health Ministry for approval and it is still pending,” he said.
He advised pensioners who wanted to make claim, especially for their medicine bills, to include the details of the medicine as well.
