Malaysian SIM card for world travellers

IF plans go well, travellers around the world can soon buy a prepaid SIM card of the country they travel to at the convenience of their home through the Internet. A Malaysian brainchild, the product also known as the Global Starter Kit is marketed by Sedania Travelneeds2U (ST2U). It now serves mainly Malaysians travellers to Singapore, Cambodia and Indonesia and vice versa.

Some 55 local travel agencies have signed up to sell the product which starts at as low as RM36. It can also be bought through www.travelneeds2u.com. Buyers get a voucher that they can exchange for a SIM card once they reach their destination airport or any other convenient collection points. Activation comes in seconds.

“The other countries that will soon be included in the sales of the global starter kit are The Philippines, Vietnam and Bangladesh,” said Sedania Travelneeds2U CEO Radzib Ariff.
The company is eyeing the 2.4 billion travellers worldwide to buy the product through 59,000 IATA travel agents operating in more than 200 countries as well as through its webiste travelneeds2u.com.

Raya with Mr Os Down Under

THIS Hari Raya, watch Malaysian comedian and celebrity Mr Os celebrating the festive season with koalas and kangaroos in Australia in Os Beraya di Oz on TV9 today between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

In the programme, Oz and celebrity chef Kamarul show that celebrating Hari Raya in Queensland is not much different from doing it at home.
Some of the places featured are the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, theme parks such as Dreamworld and Warner Bros. Movie World and QDeck, the observation deck of the world’s tallest residential tower. The Making Of Os Beraya di Oz will also be televised today from 1.30pm to 2pm.

Macau on the move

THE Macau Goverment Tourist Office in Kuala Lumpur launched a one-month Experience Macau Bus Tour in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of Macau SAC this year.

The double-decker colourful bus, which doubles up as a gallery to showcase Macau’s attractions, travels to key towns and cities with some 15 staff who sell packages on the spot from as low as RM299.

Those who buy packages also stand a chance to win handsome awards that include stays at hotels such as the Four Seasons Hotel Macao and MGM Grand Macau.

The Experience Macau Bus Tour was recently launched by MGTO representative in Malaysia Tunku Datuk Seri Iskandar Tunku Abdullah and has so far visited Penang, Ipoh, Seremban and Malacca. It will be at Sunway Pyramid Petaling Jaya (tomorrow), Taipan USJ (Sept 29), Damansara Uptown (Sept 30),
